Confidentiality & Publicity
Student records are confidential. However, directory information may be released without written consent to publicize school activities or student achievement, as well as to military recruiters, colleges, and prospective employers. Some directory information may be released without consent for use by room parents, Parent-Teacher Associations, etc. Directory information includes: name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth, photographs, video, participation in officially recognized school activities and sports, height and weight of athletes, dates in attendance, awards, honors, or degrees received, and most recent school attended.
Parents should have received information about how to download an opt out form from the district website in their “Welcome Back” mailing. If you do not wish to have directory information/photos released, or you oppose the use of pictures or video of your child being used in school and district publications, or posted to school or district websites or in school or district social media posts or used for professional development please return your completed form to your child’s principal by October 1, 2018.
