Greece Central School District Electronic Device Policy
In accordance with New York State’s Distraction-Free Schools Law, all public school districts and BOCES are required to prohibit the unsanctioned use of smartphones and other internet-enabled personal devices for the duration of the school day, including class time, lunch, and study halls. The Greece Central School District has prohibited the use of personal electronic devices in school since September, 2022 as outlined in Board Policy 7312 "Use of Private Electronic Devices by Students". Here is a general overview of what is required at each grade level:
PreK–5:
Devices must be off and stored in backpacks or cubbies throughout the day.
Grades 6–12:
Devices must be in a locked Yondr pouch from arrival to dismissal. Safety screening systems, including bag scanners, will be in use. Non-compliance will result in disciplinary action.
