The Greece Central School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Brandin Jones as Director of Instructional Equity and Innovation for the Greece Central School District, effective July 1. In this redefined role, the longtime district administrator will support the implementation of New York State’s new Portrait of a Graduate initiative, grounded in the NYS Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education Framework.
This leadership role moves beyond traditional equity initiatives by placing a direct focus on the classroom experience. Working in collaboration with administrators, this position will support the strategic vision for student success as described in the current REACH 2027 Strategic Plan as well as future strategic plans. Jones will act as a catalyst for change, ensuring that district’s graduates are not only academically prepared but also creative innovators, critical thinkers and global citizens.
“Brandin Jones brings a rare full-circle perspective to this role, having led at the elementary, middle, and high school levels,” said Superintendent Jeremy Smalline. “This deep-rooted understanding of the student journey allows him to bridge gaps in our system with both innovation and empathy. His proven track record as a relational leader makes him the ideal choice to guide our families and staff through this exciting transition to a competency-based learning model.”
While Jones remains fully committed to leading Olympia through the end of the academic year, the district will immediately begin a collaborative search for his successor. This process will include input from Olympia staff and families to ensure a thoughtful transition and to identify a leader who will continue the school’s momentum.
“I am incredibly honored to step into a role that directly shapes the future of how our students learn and succeed,” Jones said. “I look forward to working alongside our entire community to build a more inclusive, modern and personalized path to graduation for every student we serve.”
