The Greece Central School District is excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive, months-long project to modernize our communication infrastructure. We are currently transitioning from our traditional telephone hardware to a state-of-the-art cloud-based system. This districtwide upgrade involves replacing every physical handset and reprogramming all devices to ensure more reliable and flexible communication for our staff and families.
What to Expect During the Transition
To minimize disruption, buildings will be transitioned to the new system one at a time. Please keep the following in mind:
· Potential Outages: We may experience brief phone outages during the transition. Most of this work is scheduled to occur outside of regular school hours, therefore, we do not anticipate widespread issues.
· Difficulty Connecting: If you are unable to reach a specific individual, please contact the school’s main office or call the District Switchboard at (585) 966-2000 for assistance.
· Internal Calling Change: For those calling from within the district, please dial the full seven-digit number (beginning with 966) rather than the four-digit extension. Using only the extension may result in an "unplugged" message if the receiver you are calling has already been moved to the new system but your phone has not yet been updated.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our technology and better serve the Greece community!
