The Greece Central School District is proud to announce the appointment of Charles Loray as the new principal of Greece Olympia School, effective July 1. A proud Spartan alumnus, Loray will lead his alma mater after serving as one of the school’s assistant principals since 2022.
The transition comes as current principal Brandin Jones prepares to move into a districtwide leadership role as the Director of Educational Equity and Innovation. District officials anticipate a seamless transition for the Olympia community.
“Chuck was the clear choice for this position because he possesses a deep-rooted understanding of the Olympia staff, students and families," said Superintendent Jeremy Smalline. “His extensive experience within our district, combined with his perspective as a former student, makes him uniquely positioned to lead with both heart and strategic vision.”
Loray brings a wealth of educational experience to the role. Before coming to Greece, Loray taught in the Fairport and Victor school districts before serving as Assistant Principal at Newark High School. His educational background includes degrees from SUNY Geneseo, Nazareth College, and SUNY Oswego.
Throughout his tenure at Olympia, Loray has been a visible advocate for "Spartan Pride," focusing on individual student breakthroughs and fostering a collaborative culture among staff. He credits much of his growth to the mentorship of Mr. Jones and is committed to upholding the high standards of integrity and heart established by his predecessors.
"It is a true honor to step into the role of Principal at a place that shaped who I am,” Loray said. “My vision for Olympia’s future is simple: to foster a culture where belonging meets excellence. By focusing on the full student experience—academics, life skills, and character—we ensure every Spartan leaves us ready for the world. I have cherished our journey together so far and am eager to continue serving our incredible students and families.”
Regarding his vision for the future of Olympia, Loray’s excitement for the upcoming school year, and his commitment to the student body, Loray said he is honored to lead the school that shaped his own foundation and looks forward to working alongside his dedicated administrative team to build the future of Greece Olympia, which serves students in grades 6-12.
