The Greece Central School District is committed to the Community Schools Movement. Community Schools bring together the academic and social supports needed to ensure that all students succeed by offering programs, before, during and after the school day for students and their families. The programs are designed to support the school’s academic program and expand the services offered within the community. Programs and services offered at the community school may include some combination of academic enrichment activities for students, student clubs, adult education classes, recreation and health services.
Community Schools assert a strong link between addressing students’ social-emotional well-being and effective support of student learning, which is linked to the district Strategic Plan.
• Strengthen, expand and align strategic community partnerships to improve student performance.
• Build trust through transparent communication and well-articulated engagement among parents,
families, residents and employees.
• Support students identified as at risk and establish effective dropout prevention programs to
increase high school graduation rates.
• Promote standards-based school counseling and mental health programs to improve achievement
and to integrate social, health and other services through interagency
